What it means to be Christian!

ree

“I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that Ido; and he will do even greater things than these because Igo to the Father” (John14:12 Amp).

There is a spirit at work in the church that would like to keep people from doing the greater works that Jesus talks about. This spirit is called the Nicolaitan spirit. The term “Nicolaitans” is derived from two Greek words: Nikos" and “Laos”. Nikos means to conquer; "nicao" literally means; to dominate, intimidate, and manipulate. The term "laos" means "the people” or the “laity.” So, the agenda of the Nicolaitan spirit is to conquer (dominate, intimidate, and manipulate) the people (laity). The Nicolaitan movement marked the beginning of an unrighteous priesthood in the church. The first item on this spirit’s agenda is to divide in order to conquer. Anyone who believes can hear from God and do the same things that Jesus did, but this spirit puts a great division between the priests and the laity (the Pastor and the congregation).

" The primary objective of the Nicolaitan spirit is to keep the people (the laity), from looking directly to the Lord for leadership and the insight given through that spiritual authority." (2) From article: The Spirit of the Nicolatians by Bob Jones with Paul Keith Davis

This spirit wants to prevent people from seeing that anyone who believes in Jesus will do great things. It tries to prevent people from seeing the authority and the destiny that Jesus Christ has for them. There is something that goes ‘tilt’ in our natural experience that says this may be for somebody else but it is not for me. Even some Christians think it is okay for Pastor Peter to lay hands on the sick, and give a prophetic word, but don’t ask me to do it. It is just as much for you as it is for me. Hunger for the things of God! Thirst for the things of God and you will be satisfied! You will be filled!

I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me ...” Are you a steadfast believer? Now, what is contained in the following scripture may harm the kingdom of darkness. The kingdom of darkness is on the run and the kingdom of heaven is advancing. But still, within Christian circles there is this ‘tilt’ that goes on. “You can show me anything, but don’t show me this because I don’t believe it.” But the Word says if you are believers you’re going to get something! The devil wants to keep this from you. He doesn’t want you to know this! Traditional religion doesn’t want you to know this! The Nicolaitan spirit doesn’t want you to know this! Don’t let this get out, but you’ve got authority! It’s not just the guy at the front who is preaching and sweating -- you’ve got authority.

“...he will himself be able to do the things that I do...” Who said this? If you have a red letter Bible I will tell you -- it's red-lettered. It is in red letters! Who said it? Jesus said it! Do you believe Jesus? Who did He hear from? The Father! He did nothing or said nothing that did not flow from the throne room. These words are coming directly from the Throne Room of God for your life. It’s not up to me to get you to believe it. You have already called yourself a believer. Believers believe. I’m a believer. Amen. I am! “Well you don’t know my life.. .you don’t know my circumstance... you don’t know my situation... you don’t know how hard it was to get up this morning.” Hey! If you’re a believer; start believing!

Do you know there is a song out there by the Beatles: I’m a Believer? I’m a believer -- I got it before they did. I got it two thousand years ago. I got it at the cross when my Savior said, “It is finished.” We have to walk in it. There is a struggle in walking in it. Is that not true? But He did say, “It is finished.” It is finished. He has done the work. We walk it out. Why did He go? So the Holy Spirit would be released for us; so we would have the Holy Spirit in our lives; and so that the Holy Spirit would function through our lives.

“... and he will do even greater things...” He will do greater things! I heard Rick Joyner say it this way: he’s not going to walk on water; he’s going to take a car and drive across. You’re probably thinking, “How can I possibly do greater things than what Jesus Christ did?” I will tell you how: He released you to do it: He gave you authority to do it. Are you a believer? Do you believe the Word of God? Just declare this: “I’m going to do greater!”Why? Because you have an intimate relationship with the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, and it’s His desire to release the kingdom of God through your life; through my life; and through our lives to others.

This is the thing that religion has tried to hide for millenniums – we’ve had this thinking that the guy upfront is the only guy who can minister. I’ve been to churches with big altars, and there is a separation that takes place between the laity and the clergy. There is nothing that you can’t walk in that somebody on the platform is walking in. Please hear me. There is nothing that you cannot walk in because it is just the authority of the believer. How does healing come? It comes through the authority of a believer; and the healing of God flows. Amen. That’s all. It’s not anything else.

Do you know that the normal Christian life is signs, wonders, and miracles? Religion has tried to restrict that, but the normal Christian life is not, “Wow look at that, there was a miracle!” That’s normal. It’s abnormal when we don’t have miracles. Do you understand what that means? It’s abnormal! It’s not right! It is not God when we don’t have miracles, but we give Him the glory for everything He does do. It’s normal to have miracles; it’s normal to have signs; it’s normal to have wonders. It's normal Christianity -- religion would try to lie to you. But normal Christianity – signs, wonders, and miracles, is the Word of God.

I assure you, most solemnly I tell you,” Jesus is almost pleading and begging with people in this scripture. Do you notice the words that are used here? I assure you; it’s not like,“well maybe... maybe this will happen or maybe if you are good...” It also says, “most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things...” You can get another translation and look up another translation. Get the Hebrew; get the Greek; go through it all! Just look at it! Understand one thing: you have got the authority to do the things that Jesus Christ did. He said it!

Religion is trying to hide it! I don’t know why. (Yes I do.) “...and he will do even greater things than these because I go to the Father, And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you may ask in My name [as presenting all that IAM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.” Why is He doing it? So the glory would go to God and lives would be changed. Why did Jesus come? He came to set the captives free. Why are you on the earth? You are here to set the captives free; to open prison doors; to heal the sick, and to cast out demons.

I’m going to make a declaration over your life, in the name of Jesus. Are you a believer? Do you want to walk in the authority of God in your life; the authority that He has released in His scripture? He has already released it at the cross, but there has to be a mindset that will receive what He released. You know that mindsets sometimes do not line up to the Word of God. Have you ever had a mindset that did not line up to the Word of God? All of us have: there is nobody that is exempt.

We are going to take this mindset and we are going to squarely throw it down. We are going to throw this mindset down that says, “It’s okay for Peter Nash to do this, but it’s not okay for me.” Do you want to throw that mindset down? You can, with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. If you’re battling with the yokes of bondage, they can be removed right now, in the name of Jesus.

Lord, I thank you for a release right now in the name of Jesus. I declare and decree that right now, there is a breaking of old mindsets off of my life, which prevent me from walking in the fullness of scripture for my life, in the name of Jesus. I want you to say this, “No! I refuse the lies of the devil in my life. I am a believer, and that means that I carry the authority of Jesus Christ in my life. I am anointed by the Holy Spirit, Who was released on the earth for me and for my brothers and sisters, and I hunger for more of the things of God operating in my life in Jesus name.”

Pray this following prayer: I thank You, Lord, that it’s the anointing that breaks every yoke of bondage. Thank You for a greater work that I will do, Lord because you said I could. I take the authority that You gave me at the cross, and on the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was released. I thank you that the Holy Spirit propels me forward, in the name of Jesus. I pray that the old mindsets would be torn away in the name of Jesus, and that I will never be the same from this moment onwards. Thank you for a greater measure, in the name of Jesus . Lord, You are the one that does it. I am nothing without you. I pray that every form of darkness will succumb to the Word of God. ThankYou for a new release of that authority now, in the name of Jesus. You may need to repent for unbelief. In the gospel of Mark, when Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes”, the father of the demonized boy said, “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24) So if you know that you have unbelief, you can repent right now, and then you’ll have legal access and a legal right to enter in with this prayer. Lord, I repent for not believing the Word of God. I repent for not believing that I could walk in these things, and for believing that it is just for a few and not for me. I thank You now for words of wisdom; words of knowledge being released; and a new authority taking place. Thank You for a new mantle of authority in the name of Jesus. You know I really value the forerunners who have done things for the kingdom of God, but we need to operate in a greater measure of the anointing in each of our individual lives. If the church catches this message, it will be transformed and changed. The Lord has released the anointing of the Holy Spirit to take us into these realms. Religion says we can’t do it, but the Word of God says that we can. The Lord has released it for every believer. Those who believe will do even greater things, because of the Holy Spirit in us. We will take every restriction off. The greater inability we have; the greater the work of the Holy Spirit. It’s not our ability anyway; it’s His ability. So we just pull off our natural restrictions.

There are no restrictions placed on your life by the Spirit. Let me say this: your past can not restrict you from God’s future -- only you can. When the devil tries to tell you’ve got nothing, you just tell him, “I’ve got everything because I’ve got Jesus Christ, and He is the one who has got the authority.” It’s not how old you are; how young you are; how insecure you are; or how much ability you have: It is rooted in Him. Just pray this prayer: I love you Jesus. Lord and thank You for the love that was shed for me. Wherever I go, let me go with the love of God in my heart and in my life. Lord, I share the authority that you have given me, and I impart to others, by Your spirit leading. I thank You Lord, that as a result of obedience, miracles, signs, and wonders will take place. Lord, every mindset that says, “I can’t,” I just tear off now in the name of Jesus! All things are possible. If You would use a donkey, or if You would cause the rock to speak, I thank You that You would use me to advance the kingdom of God. I thank you that I hunger and thirst for more of you Lord. I am content, but I’m not satisfied: I will press further. Lord, You will cause the grace of God to be released, and I will activate spiritual hunger in my life in an unprecedented way. I pray that revival starts in my heart, in Jesus name, and that I will not look to the left or to the right. I will not look down; I will look upwards and outwards from my life. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen. Much love!
